A total of 24 Chinese nationals have been arrested in Vietnam’s northern Bac Ninh province, after uncovering several arcades that have been transformed into gambling dens, local media reports.
It is understood that the arcades housed typical arcade machines that were transformed into betting games.
According to Colonel Pham The Tung, Director of the provincial Police Department, the arrests came after five arcades were raided on Monday, with police seizing more than US$13,000, as well as four-game booths and 12 scorecards from the centers.
The gambling ring was allegedly operated by a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese nationals, mainly serving Chinese gamblers.
